Demolition yard

The Munbilla Demolition Yard (affectionately known as 'The Pink Elephant') was constructed sometime in the 1980s by Denis Hennegan (it sits on lots 23, 24, 25 & 26 of the Munbilla Township subdivision) located at 805 Munbilla Road. Sometime in the mid 1980s he purchased 4 additional blocks (lots 27, 28, 33 and 34) behind the demolition yard for a light industrial venture, and after amalgating them into two blocks the Boonah Shire Council rezoned them to Light Industrial. Access was via the un-named road running parallel to Munbilla Road, and after council resurveying, Hunt Road came into existence.

During the resurveying and gravelling of Hunt Road, a bore was found in the middle of the road and ended up restricting the new gravel road to a single lane track. The bore was placed there by an adjacent owner, many years prior to 1986, and after council a request, it was eventually relocated off the road.

Even the Fassifern Coaches (Boonah Bus Service) utilised the 'Pink Elephant' as a designated pick-up point in the past (7.12am Pink Elephant Cnr Milbong Munbilla Road) along the route from Springleigh Park, Hoya Road, Boonah to West Moreton Anglican College, Karrabin.
